Typhoon Lagoon
Typhoon Lagoon is absolutely huge! You will have no trouble spending an entire day here to take it all in. With 10 different water slides, the largest wave pool in the nation, a lazy river, a huge water play area for small children, kid-size water slides, surf lessons, walking trails, 10 food and beverage spots, and a large gift shop, you will be overwhelmed in the best way.
Know Before You Go
This park is super fun and a great way to experience Disney magic. If you forget to bring anything, Disney does a great job of providing options to make your day relaxing. Check the weather ahead of time and know that if lightning is detected in the area, all guests will be asked to seek shelter and water activities will be temporarily closed down.
Check the boards at the front of the park for current wait times, seating availability, and wave schedules.
This place literally is huge and can feel a bit overwhelming. Get there early to score a spot in the shade. You can’t bring your own umbrella, but you can rent them or purchase small beach umbrellas. I recommend creating a home base with your kids so they know where to come back to meet you. Have a plan in place if anyone gets separated or lost. There is a lost children’s area in front that is good to point out on your way in.
I highly recommend wearing sunscreen and packing your own towel. The refillable mugs are worth the price if you like being able to drink soda throughout the day. You can also bring in a cooler with your own snacks and drinks, just no alcohol or ice. See my frequently asked questions below for more!
North America’s Largest Wave Pool
Typhoon Lagoon is home to North America’s largest wave pool. Not only is it huge, it’s also unique in the style of waves it creates. Check the board at the front of the park for the day’s wave schedule. Throughout the day, there will be times of continuous waves as well as time for the really big wave! Watch out, when you hear the big “whoosh” sound, a giant wave is on its way! The large waves are so big you can body surf on them. You’ll want to keep small children close by.
Tickets
Day tickets are valid at both Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Disney’s Blizzard Beach water parks. Advanced ticket purchases are recommended, however, a park reservation is not required at this time. The price online is the same as in-person. I recommend reserving online to streamline the process and add tickets to your My Disney Experience app so your magic band will get you in. If you purchase in person, you will be given a physical ticket. Prices are currently $58 to $63 for children ages 3 to 9 and $64 to $69 for adults. The cheaper ticket option has blackout dates and is not available May 27 to October 1, 2023. There is also a discount for annual passholders. Passholder prices are $43 for children age 3 to 9 and $49 for adults.
TIP: If you are a passholder, this is one of the only ways your pass can help a friend out! You are able to purchase passholder priced tickets for friends. The official limit is 3 discounted tickets at a time, but I would check with Disney for up-to-date information.

Rob
My kids love this park and we go every time we are in that part of Florida without fail. They’re pestering me about bringing a super soaker type water gun. I can’t find anything saying they are or aren’t allowed? Please advise if you can.
Sarah Lemp
Hi Rob! Disney’s official policy is not to allow toy guns, so I would assume this applies to water guns. Have a great time! https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/park-rules/
