Here’s a quick little update on my booth at the Town Peddler!
My lease is up at the end of February and I have been seriously trying to decide if it’s something I’m prepared to continue or bail out of. Ultimately, I haven’t been able to shake the fact that I’ve put so much energy into building something these past 6 months, I can’t stop now. I’m taking the plunge for another 6 months!
I had a pretty good holiday season, but the January and February months scare me!! I’m scared I won’t break even and that I’ll run out of ideas. This little space was intended to raise money for our adoption fund, not drain it. Christmas comes easy for me, but I’ve had a really hard time gaining momentum again since the end of December.
So, here we are… enter: greeting cards!
Yes, that’s right, greetings cards. I’m not expecting a 4.99 card to single-handedly rescue my first quarter numbers, but it’s a start.
I’ve been searching for items I can easily stock and appeal to a wide variety of people. Even if you’re standing in my booth and like what you see, but nothing is really jumping out at you… you could always use a greeting card, right? I’m also hoping to start making and selling cute gift bags and other items that everyone and anyone can use.
If you’re in the Metro Detroit area,
